So, as you can see almost maximum nationalized bank does not support international transaction like Google Wallet, PayPal. I know that I was not able to add all the bank names as they are so much long, but my main objective was to give you the name of the banks whose cards will work for international transactions like Google Wallet or PayPal. As you can see no debit cards are allowed in PayPal India, that is because of great rules of  RBI and we can’t do anything about it. But credit cards are allowed.

Taking out a mini-statement or even changing your PIN will amount to a transaction. The central bank has, however, said that nothing precludes a bank from offering more than three free transactions at other bank ATMs to its account holders if it so desires.
“Recently, a few banks and the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) had approached RBI seeking changes in the extant instructions regarding free transactions at other banks' ATMs. Referring to the growing cost of ATM deployment and maintenance incurred by banks, on one hand, and the rising interchange outgo due to these free transactions (on the other), the IBA had sought the removal of free transactions at other banks' ATMs at metro centres and other townships in the country," said the RBI circular.

Block ATM Card 

You can now Block your SBI ATM *** Debit Card through OnlineSBI, in case your card is lost or stolen. Follow these simple steps to immediately block your card: 

Step 1: Login to www.onlinesbi.com with your username and password. 
Step 2: Select "Block ATM Card" link under the "e-Services" tab. 
Step 3: Select the Account, under which you want to block your ATM *** Debit Card. 
Step 4: All the Active and blocked cards will be displayed. You will be shown the first 4 and last 4 digits of the card(s). 
Step 5: Select the Card, you wish to block and click "Submit". Verify the details and confirm. 
Step 6: Select the mode of authentication as either SMS OTP or Profile Password. 
Step 7: On the next screen, enter the OTP password /Profile password as chosen earlier and Click "Confirm". 
Step 8: A success message would be displayed with a Ticket No. after successful blocking of your ATM *** Debit Card. Note this Ticket No. for future reference.

Maximum money that can be sent abroad as per RBI

The RBI prescribes separate limits for other remittances such as travel, education or medical expenses (see table). These limits are in addition to the limits prescribed by the LRS.

Purpose	Limit

Business travel	$ 25,000 per trip
Studies	$ 1,00,000 per academic year
Medical treatment	$ 1,00,000 per financial year
Liberalised Remittance Scheme	$ 2,00,000 per financial year

These limits are also gross limits. That is, you can remit up to these limits out of the country irrespective of how much you bring in.


In 2004, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS). Thanks to this scheme, foreign remittances today can be freely made by residents to the extent of $2,00,000 per financial year. Remittances made under the LRS can be used to buy property abroad or to invest in shares, mutual funds or debt instruments in any foreign country without prior approval of the RBI.


While the scheme looks attractive on paper, it is ridden with several practical roadblocks. Confusion exists on what is allowed under the scheme, what documents are needed to be submitted and so on. Let us try to throw light on these practical aspects.

What can the LRS be used for?

LRS can be used for:

• Buying property abroad
• Investing in shares, securities, bonds, mutual funds abroad
• Opening and maintaining foreign currency accounts with banks outside India for carrying out the above mentioned transactions
• Gifts and donations abroad

For instance, if a customer decides to open a broking account abroad and deposits $2,00,000 (under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme) and later that year, decides he wants to withdraw all his money and open an account at another financial institution, he will not be able to do so.
